Patent id not found in g_applications

Hello,

I was looking in PW g_application table for patent ids such as "US20200291445A1", but didn't have any luck also looking for "20200291445" in patent_id column, am I missing something?

Thanks a lot,

Patent ID and PGPub ID

Hello, Grazia

20200291445 is the document number for a pre-grant publication rather than a granted patent. You should be able to find this publication and its related data in the pre-grant tables using the "pgpub_id" column. The pre-grant tables are available for download here: https://patentsview.org/download/pg-download-tables.

Granted and pre-grant document IDs can generally be told apart by their length. Patent IDs are usually 7 or 8 characters long and sometimes begin with a letter. PGPub IDs are 11 characters long, beginning with the year of their publication, and are only numeric. PatentsView omits the "US" prefix and "A1" (etc.) suffix from document identifiers.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or issues with the data tables!

Best,
