USPTO Symposium on Entity Resolution
During the virtual symposium on entity resolution practices and applications, the United States Patent and Trademark Office and The American Institutes for Research looked to bring together computer scientists, information scientists, economists and others to discuss the state-of-the-art approaches to and current applications of entity resolution, particularly focusing on applications to patents. The symposium reviewed methods and applications with the following goals.
- To provide an overview of current approaches from leading scholars in the field.
- To build knowledge, identify a community of practitioners, and facilitate the application of common approaches.
Organization
The symposium was structured as three half-day sessions during the week of March 22nd, 2021.
Each session included expert speakers and a panel conversation.
The introduction for the symposium was given by Chief Economist Andrew (Andy) Toole on behalf of the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
