Is there somewhere that has a deep explanation between the granted/pregranted tables? 

To include what may happen in the tables when a pregranted becomes granted?

That's a great question. At this time, we do not have an in-depth record of what changes between the pre-grant application phase of a patent and the granted patent information. It is unusual for the information to change greatly between application and granted patent and so there is duplication of information between each set of data. The pg_granted_pgpubs_crosswalk is the file to use to map pre-grant applicants to granted patents.
