Results from Spring 2020 Quality Assurance
The quality assurance process showed a success rate of 94.33% for government agency extraction and 96.92% for contract award number extraction. The data quality analysis included samples taken from the universe of government interest statements, a sample taken from patents granted after 2005, a sample taken from those government interest statements that were tagged as “U.S. Government,” and samples taken from the top 10 most frequently occurring federal agencies. Users of the government interest data reported varying degrees of accuracy based on which organizations were assigned, creating the impetus for expanding the quality assurance analysis. In total, 12 random samples were taken with 100 records each. The results from the 2020 review are displayed in the table below.
